TEEN BEGINNER GUITAR
Our music programs are open to all Simcoe County children/youth. They are free for those in need and have a low fee for those with financial means.
What?

This 10-week teen-only beginner guitar program is inclusive and open to youth 13-19 years old.
When and Where?

Hillcrest Public School on Mondays from 6:15pm to 7pm.

January 13th to March 31st (no classes on Family Day and on the March Break).
Cost?

$50 for the 10-week program.

$25 deposit for those in financial need. The deposit will be refunded if your teen attends at least 80% of the classes. Please email sarah@glowingheartscharity.org before registering if you need to split up your payment of the deposit.

Includes the free loan of a guitar for those who sign an instrument loan agreement.
Requirements:

Willingness to learn, participate, be respectful, and committed to attending classes.

No previous experience or music reading ability needed.
Sean McGaughey-Instructor
Sean McGaughey is a singer-songwriter, children's entertainer (who has performed at venues like the Mariposa Folk Festival) and soon-to-be-retired elementary school music teacher. He has previously taught guitar and ukulele programs for Glowing Hearts Charity at the Georgian Bay Native Friendship Centre and the Midland Public Library. At the end of a recent 6-week ukulele program run by the library, his group, The Overdue Books, entered and won the annual CBC Music Class Challenge!
